Abdul Jabbar Beig is the Co-Founder and CEO of Be GLAD, an innovative organization committed to advancing educational practices. With extensive experience in PreK-12 education and technology startups, he brings a unique perspective to his leadership role. As a licensed psychotherapist, he has launched a counseling center and advocated for neglected and abused children through his work as an administrator at a foster care agency.
A distinguished keynote speaker at national conferences, Abdul Jabbar is also a Certified National Project GLAD® Key Trainer, honored with the Program of Academic Excellence Award by the U.S. Department of Education. He has served as an Authorized Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Trainer for the Arizona Department of Education, where he played a key role in transforming reading and literacy instruction for the Navajo Nation in multiple languages.
An accomplished author, Abdul Jabbar has co-authored over 100 books and articles, significantly contributing to research on improved learning outcomes, accelerated reading growth, and transformative educational practices. His research includes collaborations with the University of California, Berkeley's Institute of Human Development and the Departments of Education and Psychology.
Outside of his professional achievements, Abdul Jabbar enjoys snowboarding, scuba diving, playing bass guitar, and coaching football (soccer), reflecting his diverse interests and commitment to celebrating life.
