Bio

Dr. Effat Fadag is an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Jeddah, as well as an artist and curator based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Islamic Art from King Abdulaziz University, followed by a Master's and PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Kent, UK.

Dr. Fadag's work delves into the intersection of art, science, technology, and education, with a particular emphasis on identity and history. In 2010, she established "Naqsh Art Studio."

She has collaborated with various institutions and organizations, including King Abdulaziz University, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Dar Al-Hekma University, the Misk Art Institute, and the Royal Commission for AlUla. She has led numerous art advisory committees both nationally and internationally. Dr. Fadag has also held key administrative roles, such as Head of the Islamic Arts Department at King Abdulaziz University and Dean of the College of Design and Architecture at Dar Al-Hekma University. Currently, she serves on the board of the Visual Arts Authority and is a part-time faculty member at Sotheby’s Institute of Art (SIA).
